When I found this raspberry shrub recipe in the Southern Appalachian Mountain Cookbook I was immediately intrigued. Sharing the recipe on my blog and starting a collection of shrub recipes and articles that I find along the way.

Popular in the 19th century these fruit vinegars were touted as alternatives to hard spirits, although their popularity today includes many recipes that combine shrub with alcohol such as rum, vodka or beer.
