Since I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure a year ago to date, I have learned to create recipes for foods that I enjoy. I often change my recipes because I learn something new or find ways to make the recipe healthier. I suppose my cooking is like my art, it is ever changing.

I created this Squidoo Lens because of a Challenge I am doing in another group. Just because we may be chocolate addicts or love eating foods like Tortillas or Quesadillas does not mean we cannot have them anymore because we have High Blood Pressure or need to lose a few pounds. Grant you there is a lot of work involved in creating recipes especially if you plan to share them. It is time consuming and not all recipes may be liked especially without any salt except what in the food naturally.

The recipes I am sharing are recipes I learned to make when I was first diagnosed with HBP and since that time my taste buds have changed a lot. For some odd reason, I have turned more towards a spicier taste. That is why when I make my flat bread/tortillas I suggest sprinkling them with a little pepper before turning them. It truly enhances the taste and like they say, everybody loves a little spice once in a while, enjoy!

Your personal story and sharing the recipes is fantastic. Many people will benefit from what you have put together here regarding high blood pressure and the choices we make. Thank you!

I hope so, I know that this has been an interesting journey to say the least. I figure if I can help someone with some recipes, that makes all of the time I have done researching, measuring and so on worth it.
